Exo 28:30 And thou shalt put in the breastplate of judgment the Urim and the Thummim; and they shall be upon Aaron’s heart, when he goeth in before the LORD: and Aaron shall bear the judgment of the children of Israel upon his heart before the LORD continually. (KJV) Now the translation of Urim and Thummim is respectively that of the "oracular light" and "perfections" and these refer to the foreknowing of God of His people's future and also then the set of perfections in God as from a representative set of "complete truths". In the metaphysics section we noted repeatedly the liberty of God to choose between whatever perfections of His He would show towards his people at any one time - and this example is shown perfectly in the life of Christ. In being the perfect example of deference to His Father's will, Jesus fulfills the law on a deeply personal level and we must now respond and repent of all our misconceptions of God's person and His closeness to us - and repent - fulfilling those requirements He has of us. The foreknowing of the believer by God deems appropriate our election to grace or not: and the predestination of our selves in His Kingdom (towards obedience) with the ministry of the Holy Spirit develops (like a photograph) this given grace of God to His chosen. The foreknowing (Urim) and the repentance to acknowledge God - taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ (the essence of Faith or as in the metaphysics section "L(G)") redirects our faith back to God in His Kingdom, Power and Glory; this is the context of "Thummim". In the New Testament all chosen born again believers are kings and priests to serve their God. We each have in our faith this Urim and Thummim. It may not be better put than in the words of James: Jam 4:5 Do ye think that the scripture saith in vain, The spirit that dwelleth in us lusteth to envy? Jam 4:6 But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble. Jam 4:7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. (KJV) In submitting ones self to the complete sovereignty of God as over His creation and our persons, we have our souls brought into the direction God would want us to take. Whilst this grace is the right of every elect believer in Christ today: beforehand it was the right of the high priest only as mediator to (and also "of") the people: The OT priesthoood was sanctified with all the people by blood: whereas every believer in the NT is sanctified with the far superior blood of Christ Himself to all of us.
